Kings could learn from ex-players

Last December we learned of the Sacramento Kings-Toronto Raptors trade and began reading a steady stream of columns from The Bee about how brilliant the Kings, general manager Pete D'Alessandro was in pulling it off.

Watching Toronto beat Brooklyn today, I saw all of our four ex-Kings contributing in a way we never saw under Coach Malone, especially the play of point guard Greivas Vasquez, who carried the Raptors to victory. Did I say point guard? Don't we now read almost every day about the Kings' weakness and serious shortcomings at point guard?

So Toronto is in the playoffs thanks in great measure to ex-Kings, and Sacramento has one overpaid ball hog, one clumsy seven footer who rarely gets into any games and another unknown named Acy who has yet to cause a standing ovation. All watching the playoffs on television.
