Re "Bundyflops" (Forum, April 27): Jack Ohman's cartoon depiction of seven conservatives as "Bundyflops" demonstrates a diminished capacity to distinguish apples from oranges.
To suggest that it is a hypocritical flip-flop for Rand Paul to express frustration with Federal Government Land Policy and then denounce Bundy's remarks on race as offensive is beyond comprehension. One can go down the list and see the same sequence of ridiculous non-sequiturs attempting to link legitimate concerns about Government overreach with the repugnant remarks of an ignorant racist.
Whatever one's political persuasion, it surely in the American tradition for reasonable people to debate what is government abuse of power- in this instance, till the cows come home. Racism has no part in such a debate unless as a straw man to be knocked down by the slightest puff of wind. -- James McCandless, Roseville
