Re "Sterling has stormy past" (Sports, April 29): It seems clear from his remarks Donald Sterling is likely a racist and is receiving a media lynching. But before we lynch him physically, maybe we should all step back. I wonder how many of us could stand the public scrutiny of having our private thoughts taped without our knowledge and displayed publicly. And maybe we should think about how someone more important than the media might view this. Matthew 6:14-16 says: If you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins. Certainly, Sterling needs to be held accountable for his words and actions, but I wonder how many, including some speaking out so forcefully, are in a position to cast the first stone?
