Re "Proposed tunnel at Alhambra Boulevard will be continuing issue for McKinley Village" (SacBee.com, April 30): The City Council has approved the building of the homes in the McKinley Village area.

They should make a requirement that anyone buying or renting a unit there will need to sign an acknowledgement that the area is in a sacrificial region that will be sacrificed if the American River floods. Otherwise, I can easily imagine in five years, when the river breeches and they have to flood that area, the residents sue because they didn't know.
