California drought

Since residential landscape irrigation appears to be a large compononent of our north state water useage, I would advocate letting all resedential irrigation of lawns cease, on the honor system. It would be more cost effective for the homeowner to replant in the spring, after a hopefully wet winter, than to pay water bills through the summer. This would free up a large resource to be used in event of another dry year. Besides, look at all the free time you'll have not tending to your landscapes. It may be a blessing in disguise.
