Intentional irony?

Re "Montana garage shooting sparks self-defense debate" (April 29): While reading the article that described the cold-blooded shooting of an unarmed teenager, I couldn't help but glance over at the facing page which prominently featured an ad for guns of all types. My stomach was already in knots from reading the article, but I found the juxtaposition of the article and the ad too much to bear.

Printing the ad in the first place was bad enough in my book. Was placing it opposite an article about a senseless, gun-culture-promoted killing intentional irony?
