How sick to cheer for suffering

Re "No sympathy for killer" (Letters, May 8): Letters are sick from people who not only didn't object to the convicted killer's s prolonged suffering but actually sounded happy about it.

If these gleeful people don't have the remotest sympathy for the convicted man, what about his family, the people who were working that night, all the witnesses, and the rest of us, the people who have a shadow of a human heart?

I suspect the people with those repugnant sentiments resemble the killer more than they know.
