Re "Cycling cleaning up its act" (Sports, May 11): The article appearing on Page One of Sunday's sports section by Ailene Voisin was in poor taste and unhelpful to the sport of cycling. Had the article been published after the tour had been underway, the remarks and information would have been more appropriate and perhaps even helpful.
Sports fans are aware of Lance Armstrong's outrageous behavior and the shadow his actions has cast on cycling. Why place your article on the front page of the Sports section on the first day of this year's Tour of California? There was no new information conatined in the article that might have warranted it being released today.
