I am so disappointed at the Department of General Services' decision to stop watering the lawns at Capitol Park. Tens of thousands of visitors to the Capitol and its grounds every year are delighted and enjoy the grounds.
They say the grass can be replaced, but when and at what cost? The grass areas will become dust bowls this summer and muddy quagmires after the first rains this fall when the first demonstrations are held. Thousands will be forced to the previous grassy areas.
This is just another example of the shortsighted decisions made by the bureaucrats we pay to protect our valuable resources. Please let your Assembly and Senate Representatives know this is not a good idea for California.
