Labeling sodas is unnecessary and unfair

Re "Public needs warning on soda's threat to health" (Editorials, May 11): Our American society is suffering from obesity and diabetes, but is a label stating that "drinking beverages with added sugar(s) contributes to obesity, diabetes, and tooth decay" going to stop teenagers from drinking sodas?

Rather than having the Legislature prevent teenagers from drinking soda, it should be the responsibility of parents.

Also, why just single California out and require labels here rather than in other states? It is unconstitutional to enforce this label on California and not on the rest of the nation.
