Re "Will Sacramento choose progress or status quo in City Council race?" (Our Region, May 14): Let's hope Marcos Breton's biased article backfires on him and his pick for City Council. Let's also hope the teachers, union members and informed citizens who care about the real issues of Sacramento as opposed to business interests held their noses and read the article.

The Walmart issue with Jay Schenirer is not about how Schenirer is using the Walmart money for a self-started charity, but how that money influences his vote regarding big box stores. The teachers' union is not the bad guy.

Breton likes to simplify complex topics into his view versus a distortion of the opposing view. I guess his opinion articles are just that- his opinion.
