Every election, I receive a recommendation from some group with a do-good sort of label. This year it was from parentsforprogress.com, which listed an address in Los Angeles and 0 members. I searched the web and found it was a Jersey City citizens' group with the objective of improving the schools in Jersey City.

Here is their mission statement: "We are an all-volunteer group of parents and Jersey City residents. Our goal is excellent neighborhood public schools. We are beholden only to the 28,000 children in Jersey City who depend on our schools and have a right to a quality education."

This is a very laudable purpose, but not related to Sacramento's situation and candidates
