Taxis: More taxis, not fewer

The problem with Sacramento taxis is that there aren't enough of them, and they are grossly more expensive than every other major city I have ever visited.

I used to use the major cab company, but I would find myself waiting to be picked up between one and three hours and paying fees that would be double or triple what they would be in San Francisco.

Then, I stumbled across an independent who relies on regulars. It was less expensive by far and totally reliable.

What you didn't mention in this article is that it isn't enough for them to be able to accept credit cards, which can be done with a phone app. The new requirement would be to install a machine at great expense. This is a solution in search of a problem.
