Re "City goes all in for Kings" (Page A1, May 21): So, Sacramento's finest hour, according to Mayor Kevin Johnson, happened yesterday when the City Council approved to commit $255 million to build a new sports arena for the Kings? This is really pathetic. Of all the pressing issues Sacramento faces and needs to resolve, building a downtown arena is the winner? Is anybody out there reviewing the priorities on how to spend taxpayers' money?

This story did not deserve to be at the top of the front page. Other pressing national and world issues were tucked inside the following pages.
