California's poverty rate is better than Texas'

A quick internet check give poverty rate figures. According to the Catholic Campaign for Human Dignity, California has the 33rd highest poverty rate in the U.S, not first. Texas is 40th. In the race to the worst of the worst are: Alabama, 45; Georgia, 46; Arkansas, 48; Louisiana, 49; and Mississippi, 50. And they must endure floods, tornadoes, and ignorant politicians to boot.
