Pan v. Dickinson: Do no harm, really?

Re "Veteran Dems jockey to replace Steinberg" (Capitol & California, May 27): I'm disappointed in the California Medical Association for supporting Richard Pan for the California state senate. The radically pro-choice Pan chaired the committee that voted down a bill that would have outlawed the horrific practice of sex-selection abortion.
Apparently, Pan and the CMA have forgotten, or abandoned, the ultimate medical standard of "Do no harm".
If you believe in justice and the inalienable right to life, then Jonathan Zachariou has earned your vote.
If you believe it is a moral and ethical practice for a mother to terminate her pregnancy simply because she wanted a boy and her preborn child is a girl, vote for Pan.
Will California ever understand that by failing to protect human life, all other issues are rendered pointless? The answer is blowin' in the wind.
