Re "Schubert's Experience Fits DA Job" (Our Region, June 1): Don't candidate endorsements belong on the opinion page? Why is Marcos Breton's free campaign ad for Anne Marie Schubert in the news section? This is a biased, one-sided attack on Maggy Krell disguised as an opinion piece. Was Krell given an opportunity to respond to these charges?
Newspaper endorsements should be made by the editorial board, not individual columnists. If Breton wants to support Schubert, he can write a letter to the editor like the rest of us. I'm surprised he can devote a column to the election, given his primary role as head cheerleader for Kevin Johnson and the arena project.
