Re "Do we own guns or do they own us?" (Forum, June 1): Although Jack Ohman's cartoons are usually juvenile and banal, I must admit I enjoy his op-eds because he usually uses small enough words even I can understand. Alas, I didn't have the opportunity to enjoy this piece.
When he described the terrible tragedy in Isla Vista and mentioned having three grown children, who are college students much "like the young women who were murdered," I surmised the rest of the piece would also be filled with inaccuracies.
Maybe Ohman forgot about the three male roommates who were stabbed to death. It was a piece about guns, so I'll give him that one. However, when he mentioned Richard Martinez, the father of another murdered student, who was male, I realized it was probably intentional.
Alas, it was probably a good piece.
