Consider water from here

It is time to focus on the real issue behind our water woes.

We must begin to use only the water that is here locally - river-fed and dam-supplied - namely the Sacramento and American rivers are our own sources of water. If we continue to think like Los Angeles and take water from sources that are not local, then we risk creating the problem elsewhere. The Owens Valley is a classic example and now Jerry Brown wants to tunnel our water South so someone else can have our water. It is not sustainable. LA needs to build desalination plants to solve their problem. We can't take water from someone else.

Everyone needs to learn to live with less. Less Lawn, less over-watered golf courses, less vegetation from habitats not like our own, less talk but more positive action.
