Why vote?

Re "We shouldn't tolerate state's terrible voter turnout" (June 8): It seems all the pundits are wringing their hands over the low turnout in the recent election.

Actually, it's no surprise, and the real reason hasn't been mentioned by the wizards. The public have finally begun to realize our politicians, regardless of party, are bought by corporate and wealthy interests and who we vote for makes absolutely no difference.

Just comparing the majority of public opinion versus the position taken by our representatives on most issues reveals who they actually listen to: gun registration, abortion, banking regulations, the list goes on and on.

So why waste your time voting? The Supreme Court made that responsibility redundant.
