NRA hampering reform

Re "NRA, gun makers promote ever more lethal weapons" (SacBee.com, June 10): Through their lobbying efforts and campaign contributions to elected officials, the National Rifle Association has prevented common sense gun regulations. If 6-year-olds slaughtered at Sandy Hook Elementary couldn't change their ways, what will?

Maybe it is time for responsible NRA members to step up and tell the leaders of the NRA and the gun manufacturers that we need to treat guns with the respect they should be given by keeping them out of the hands of the wrong people. -- Rich Pflugrath, Carmichael
