Optimist baseball game gets no coverage

Dear Joe Davidson,

You cover high school and local college baseball during the playoffs, but why is there nothing in the paper about last weekend's high school Optimist All Star Game? The student athletes are honored to be selected to the team. It only seems fair that they should at least be acknowledged of playing in the game.

If it were football, there surely would have been an article in Sunday's paper. We know several families that have boys playing out their high school careers and played in the game last Saturday, but no mention in print. The players and coach put in quite an effort for that game, and it just seems baseball always is ignored.

Just my two cents. Thanks for listening.
