Re "Tea party stuns GOP Cantor" (Page A12, June 11): David Brat, who is exceptionally conservative, crafted a message that was anti-immigration reform, anti-deficits, but also very, very critical of Wall Street. In fact, he repeatedly returned to the theme that Eric Cantor took a lot of money from Wall Street and did the bidding of Wall Street rather than Main Street. His critique of Cantor was a critique of Wall Street. He accused Cantor of bending over backwards to try make sure that members of Congress would not be too harshly penalized if they turned around and became lobbyists or got involved with Wall Street.
This analysis may not be very mainstream but it is accurate.
