Re "Schools increase spending on travel" (Page A1, June 17): I am going to laminate this article on school travel spending to remind myself the next time the educational machine starts sputtering about "The kids need more supplies," "The kids need more programs," "The kids need better air conditioning," etc.

The educational machine seems to always get away with blaming all of their needs on the kids, take money out of my pocket, slap me in the face and laugh, then repeat it all over again in a couple of years like I didn't pay attention the last time.

The funny part is there are enough voters that fall for the scam almost every time.
