Re Ohman's cartoon and "The threat of 'mission creep' in Iraq" (Editorial, June 20): The cartoon blaming Bush and Cheney for the Iraq War is BS and the editors know it. We went into that conflict with the bipartisan blessing of the Congress and allies throughout the world. Everyone saw the same intelligence.
The issue for me is that when we get involved in these conflicts, men and women get killed, the politics change and we don't finish the job. There were58,000 dead in Vietnam, then due to politics we walk away and those kids died for nothing. We are doing the same thing in Iraq.
Over 4,500 people were killed, the place was secured and Obama with a different political view chooses to quit and walk away. The whole place starts blowing up and those kids died for nothing.
If we send our troops to war, we should put forth a maxim effort and not quit until the goals are fully accomplished.
