The great divider

Re "Ideology and violence" (Letters, June 21): I read Al Franklin's letter regarding conservative ideology with great dismay. He blames Fox News for violence against our government. I agree there is a divide in this country, and President Obama is the great divider.

His campaigns served to buy votes by dividing us into groups, claiming the GOP to have a war on everything-Women, immigrants, health care, you name it-to win these important demographics. His rhetoric has alienated groups of people and has served to anger many Americans by labeling them as racists, sexist, ageists, anti-immigrant, when they aren't.

Words can be dangerous and Mr. Obama should know better. Read the comments on MSNBC and find out how many times the phrase "racist Republican" is used. It's disgusting.
