Re "Courtland trapper admits guilt" (Page B3, June 28): I couldn't believe the penalty Tracy Lee Shultz received for the most extensive illegal trapping effort in recent history. A year probation, a $5,000 fine, and he can't trap for a year. Really?

Taxpayers paid a game warden for two years of investigation for this?

If you kill a dog or a cat it's a felony. Yet it's open season trapping and "sport hunting" our wildlife? Why do we turn a blind eye to this? Where is our humanity?

Trapping is the most vile and disgusting thing a human being can impose on our wildlife. We have a long way to go.
