Re "Nepotism Allegations Nag Senate" (Page A1, June 29): Thanks to Laurel Rosenhall, Bee Capitol Bureau, for her excellent reporting of nepotism in the State Senate. This clearly tells how nepotism and corruption in the Senate has been taken to a new level without a whit of concern as to how it is viewed by the taxpayer.
Dina Hidalgo, Head of Human Resources, and Supervisor Greg Schmidt apparently have full control of the hiring and have largely turned the institution into a family thing. Hidalgo and Schmidt have grossly abused their power by focusing on the well-being of family, friends and members of Hidalgo's softball team. Hidalgo's daughter-in-law works in Steinberg's policy unit, so what action can we expect the Senate Pro Tem to take against the nepotism allegations? Let me guess.
