Re "Immigrant children deserve compassion, not taunting" (Forum, July 6): I just want to say that I, along with millions of Americans, do not wish these children harm or bad situations for their lives. That said, how many illegal people can we let come into our country and then take care of them?

Many illegal immigrants have more benefits/rights than those of us who were born here and worked all of our lives. At almost 74, I am still working every day to make sure I can eat, have a place to live and pay for my own health care.

Something must be done to stop people from coming here illegally. My ancestors had to do it the right way. Why shouldn't it be the same now?
