Re "Danger on walk in S.F." (Capitol & California, July 7): As the wife of someone who was struck on his bike commute to work in San Francisco by a hit-and-run driver who did ot stop at a red light with police not even investigating, I am hopeful this new program can work. Because my husband was wearing a helmet, was thrown over the car that hit him and was not "gravely injured or dead," SF police would not pursue the driver for running the red light.
More enforcement for all traffic violations will help, once drivers know they have to obey the law in San Francisco. I still have my husband, but others have lost theirs.
