Re "Exposures: I Care: Kit helps guide seekers to jobs" (Our Region, July 14): I can't tell you how many times I've run into a homeless person and resisted helping them because despite wanting to, I knew they weren't going to use what I give them for something helpful. As times seem to remain the same if not better these past years, the number of those struggling are likely to increase.
I'm a firm believer in doing hard personal work to help you in most situations, which is why I usually find governmental aid as handouts that can be wasted. However, seeing this kit becoming an effective method and seeing the poor doing good for themselves, the government can spend less our resources in providing aid that have the potential to be wasted.
