Hyperbole in CalPERS editorial

Re "CalPERS remains in a deep hole despite big return" (Editorials, July 15): I just had to reply to the latest editorial by The Bee regarding my place of employment. I'm reticent in my feelings on how the editorial begins talking about investment returns, but quickly updates us on the Buenrostro/Villalobos scandal for a majority of the article.

That doesn't surprise me coming from The Bee. Why not shoehorn the same story from Sunday into our Tuesday editorial? What I take opposition to is how the editorial board assumes only a vast majority of CalPERS workers are honorable and dedicated. Really? What a juvenile statement. That leaves a percentage figure in the reader's mind that 10 or 20 percent of us are evildoers?

It's a real shame that this paper only perpetuates a negative stigma of this agency and essentially lumps over two thousand hardworking and dedicated workers with two people. Bravo.
