Re "Church of England votes to allow female bishops" (Nation/World, July 15): Kudos to the Church of England for recognizing the importance of women in the church by first allowing women ordination as priests and now allowing them to become bishops. They clearly recognize today men and women are equal partners in almost all endeavors.

Too bad the Catholic Church continues to be stuck in the dark ages on this issue by not even allowing discussion of women as priests.
