Grizzlies: Keep them out

Re "The return of the grizzly" (Forum, July 13): Grizzlies in the wild do not mix well with humans. After years in Alaska, there is no reason to bring them into California, one of the most populated states.

With the recent black bear killings, why would we want to introduce grizzlies to make matters far worse?

The grizzlies in Alaska keep to themselves. Tourists must stay far away and stay together in groups. Anyone who wanders around to see bears, gets mauled. Plain and simple.

Mariel Garza is quite right. It is a bad idea.
