Is spraying us mandatory?

Re "Aerial spraying for mosquitoes under way in northeast Sacramento County" (Our Region, July 16): As I listen to the plane flying above my house, I suddenly realize that we are getting sprayed with Trumpet, a toxic organophosphate. This is the same chemical referred to in a Bee story titled "UC Davis study links autism to pesticides."

Then as I am closing the windows, I think of the description of this product being applied is registered by the EPA and the risk is minimal. AMVAC, the chemical manufacturer of Trumpet, has been partnering with Monsanto another manufacturer of chemicals. Didn't they use similar words in describing the use of Agent Orange?
