Bee misses the real front page news

Re "Defense says drug sex romp was just a consensual affair" (Page A1, July 17): I've definitely been disappointed about certain articles that have been printed, but I have never been so compelled to write a letter to the editor about something that was ignored.
I was flabbergasted this morning as I watched NBC's "The Today Show" lead with a report on a Stockton bank robbery-turned-high-speed-chase ending with two suspects and one hostage dead. This should have been the front page of The Bee, not an almost full-length picture of a high-paid prostitute.
Clearly, I realize the salacious articles must sell papers, and The Bee must make money to stay in business, but where does the infotainment end and real journalism begin? I am now considering canceling my subscription.
