If only Microsoft had a heart

Re "Microsoft cuts 18,000 jobs" (Business, July 18): This is just another reason why corporations can't be considered as real people. Real people have a heart and consider others' plights. Here, a corporation that makes billions of dollars and pays their retired CEOs billions of dollars as a pension for doing nothing, and they in turn give it away to charities, cannot fathom that charity starts at home.

All these workers want is a job and a pension for the future. That was my goal and nearly every other workers' as well, but what ego-driven publicity would that be? What help would that be to their bottom line? It's time for the corporation people to visit the Wizard of Oz for a heart.
