City ignores dead dog on sidewalk

I called the city's 311 telephone exchange on July 17 to report a dead dog lying on the sidewalk at the corner of American and Wilson around 9:30 am. I was told that someone would come and take care of it.
The next day, I drove past that corner, and the dog was still there. Around 2 p.m., I called 311 again and the city operator told me that my call from the previous day had been reported, and they would get to it as soon as they could. After 5 p.m., I went and got the dog and buried it.
I bet if there was a dead dog lying in the hot sun with flies all over it in front of the mayor's house, it wouldn't take 2 days to take care of it.
