Re "Perez vote case shows bad system" (Dan Walters, July 22): I had to chuckle at Dan Walters' article. John A. Perez's story is not one of the injustice of the voting system, it is a sad story of a professional politician not wanting to accept the fact that he may no longer be on the government gravy train and may actually have to get a real job where he would have to work.
However, that won't happen because he will be give a nice political appointment or job with one of the union organizations that financed his campaigns over the years. It is the way things are done in the California Democratic Party.
