Re "New 'express' lanes on I-80" (Our Region, July 22): Highway construction may be a bit complicated as your recent report noted. However, your reporter made a crucial mistake. Had your reporter visited the site, they might have gotten the complete picture.
It may be true that there were delays due to faulty concrete, but one essential element that is critical for any project: you must work on the project for it to reach fruition. Ask any traveler, and they will verify that they never see more than a 10 people working on any given day.
So the essential question is how do you finish something if you never work on it?
