Re "Robin Williams hanged himself with belt" (Page A1, Aug.12): We'll all miss Robin Williams, who a great talent and by all accounts, a kind and generous man. That said, I would like to say that depression is a serious thing, but it's so clearly a part of life.
Without some depression, how would one enjoy the great acts of life? To take one's life, in my opinion, is a forever hurtful and selfish act that mentally inflicts devastating pain to all those who love you. And some of them will feel guilt.
I hope that everybody embraces life for what it is, and if you know someone battling depression, please take the time to express those thoughts.
