Re "Parking tickets out of control" (Viewpoints, Aug. 22): I strongly agree with the writer when it comes to signage regarding parking regulations. I have received tickets twice and taken pictures to show the poor placement of signs.
With the first ticket, I parked in a downtown area at night, and the signs indicating restricted parking were 9 feet high on a pole, with one turned at a 45 degree angle to the street. In spite of submitting pictures, it did not sway anyone at the city. I'm awaiting a decision on a second one, involving signage on the left side of the road driving in, 8 feet high, indicating that a ticket from a kiosk around the corner on the right side of the road.
