Abortion: not health care to the unborn child

Re "State insists that insurers must cover abortions" (Capitol & California, Aug, 24): California Department of Managed Health Care Executive Director Michelle Rouillard says "Abortion is a basic health care service." Try telling that to the innocent preborn child who is killed by the abortion. I doubt they would agree it is a health care service.

Her position violates the First Amendment right to freedom of religion. It contributes to the denial of the most basic civil right: the inalienable right to life. It also fails to recognize the absolute truth that two people enter an abortion facility. Only one comes out. One is forever dead and the other forever damaged.

Expect the filing of a civil rights complaint against the State of California for discriminating against a citizen's constitutional right by forcing them to fund insurance that pays to kill preborn children, the ultimate civil rights abuse.
