Re "Health care law distorted" (Capitol & California, Aug. 23): Christopher Cadelago accuses Karl Rove's Crossroads GPS of distorting Obamacare for the benefit of Rep. Doug Ose in a TV ad against Ami Bera. What shall we do when Ad Watch is the one doing the distorting?
He says citing a cost to taxpayers of $2 trillion through 2024 is misleading, because it doesn't take into account offsetting income tax increases. I guess Cadelago doesn't think those tax increases will come from taxpayers. Perhaps the Tooth Fairy will cover it.
Cadelago says citing $800 billion in tax increases is a distortion because it doesn't take into account that some people will get refundable tax credits and others will get subsidies for health insurance. Now if the taxpayers are not the ones to pay for the tax refunds and the subsidies, I guess it is the Tooth Fairy to the rescue again.
