Pedestrians in street

Re "An improved biking network is essential for Sacramento" (Editorial, Aug. 24): I agree that getting bicycles off sidewalks is a good idea. However, I would also like to see pedestrians get off the street, especially the joggers and walkers who seem to think that the bike lanes were made for them to run or walk in.

M Street in East Sacramento seems to be particularly hard hit by joggers and walkers. Sometimes it's difficult to drive a car or ride a bike down that street without encountering people engaged in pedestrian activity that should be occurring on the sidewalks that the city has invested a great deal of time and money to provide.

Bad behavior goes in both directions, and I'd like to see enforcement for both vehicular and pedestrian abuses.
