FRIDAY-SATURDAY 'Little Women': Imagination Theater presents "Little Women," a musical version of the Louisa May Alcott classic story of a dynamic Civil War-era young woman and her close-knit family as she pursues her dream of becoming a successful writer. When: 8 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday. Weekend performances continue March 28, and include a 2:30 p.m. Sunday show, through April 6. Where: Imagination Theater, on the El Dorado County Fairgrounds, 100 Placerville Drive, Placerville. Cost: $16 general, $13 seniors ages 55 or older, $9 students. Group discounts are available. SATURDAY-SUNDAY Gem and mineral show: Roseville Rock Rollers presents "Nature's Wonders," featuring exhibitors selling jewelry, beading display, fossils, copper minerals, and daily demonstrations of mineral identification, wire wrapping, sphere making, lamp-work bead making and much more. When: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday. Where: Placer County Fairgrounds, 800 All America City Blvd., Roseville. SATURDAY Easter egg hunt: Fair Oaks Recreation and Park District and the Fair Oaks Lions Club presents an "Easter Eggstravaganza," a community event featuring games, egg hunts for all ages, a pancake breakfast and a visit from the big guy himself - the Easter Bunny. SATURDAY Plant sale: The Sacramento Perennial Plant Club hosts the eighth annual plant show and sale, featuring 11 specialty nurseries offering an assortment of healthy plants including trees, shrubs, perennials, annuals, Mediterranean and California natives, aquatic plants, miniature water gardens, and garden- related art. Used gardening books and magazines will be available for sale. At noon, Sean O'Hara, co-chairman of the Northern California Branch of the Mediterranean Garden Society, will speak. SUNDAY Easter sunrise service: The 48th annual nondenominational Easter sunrise service on the shore of Folsom Lake. Featured speaker will be Elder Terry Humphries of Rolling Hills Christian Church of El Dorado Hills. Church members Scott and Teresa Olson will lead the praise singing and also provide music. When: 6 a.m. Entry gate opens at 5:30 a.m., and there are no entry or parking fees for access to the service. Where: Beals Point Recreation Area, Auburn-Folsom Road, Granite Bay. SUNDAY Program on rabbits: Effie Yeaw Nature Center presents "Rabbit or Hare," a program on rabbits. Hop on in and find out why long ears and fluffy tails are not the end of the story. Make your own pair of ears and then go out into the nature area to look for these animals. When: 1:30 p.m. Where: Effie Yeaw Nature Center, Ancil Hoffman County Park, 2850 San Lorenzo Way, Carmichael.
