Saddle up on your mountain bike for the Bizz Johnson Trail, a seven- to 30-mile ride through the fall colors of the northern Sierra Nevada.
The Bureau of Land Management is providing shuttle bus service Saturday for riders who want a one-way, mostly downhill trip.
The 30-mile trip from Westwood to Susanville follows the historic Fernley and Lassen Railroad, winding through forests and the Susan River Canyon.
The trail crosses the river 11 times on massive wood and steel railroad bridges, and passes through two historic railroad tunnels.
Bus shuttles will leave the Susanville Railroad Depot Visitor Center at 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m., dropping riders and their bikes at four different destinations depending on the length of their ride.
Bus fares depend on the length of the ride, said Jeff Fontana, a BLM spokesman.
Fontana recommend that riders reserve a seat on the bus by calling (530) 257-3252. More information is available by calling (530) 257-0456.
