A two-alarm fire burned down a Carmichael home Sunday night and sent a teenage girl to the hospital with minor burns.
The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire Department received calls about a home fire on the 3700 block of Wingate shortly after 9 p.m. Sunday. About 20 firefighters arrived on scene and found the home fully engulfed in flames. It took close to 20 minutes to contain the fire. A teenage girl who lived in the home was taken to the hospital with minor burns on her hands and some singed hair, Capt. Christian Pebbles said.
The injured girl's mother told fire personnel that the blaze appeared to start in the fireplace, Pebbles said. Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the fire.
