Former Roseville councilwoman runs again, as husband's term ends

Published: Tuesday, Jun. 24, 2008

Former Roseville mayor Pauline Roccucci announced she will run for City Council in November, possibly replacing her husband, Richard.

"Roseville is facing significant challenges that will affect our quality of life for years to come," Pauline Roccucci said. "I am running for City Council because it's time for independent leadership and fresh energy to move our city forward."

A registered nurse, she is a former councilwoman who also served eight years as Roseville's representative on the Placer County Water Agency Board. Two years ago, she ran unsuccessfully against F.C. "Rocky" Rockholm for a seat on the Placer County Board of Supervisors.

She is married to Councilman Richard Roccucci, who will be forced out this year by term limits.

Councilman John Allard is up for re-election in November, and Councilwoman Carol Garcia, who was appointed to fill Rockholm's seat, also has to run to keep her post.
