ROSEVILLE – An attempted kidnapping of a 29-year-old woman in a Roseville shopping center may be linked to a similar incident in Lincoln, police said Thursday.

A woman was sitting in her vehicle at the Renaissance Creek Shopping Center at Sierra College and Douglas boulevards about 8:35 p.m. Tuesday, when a man entered through a back door and grabbed her around the neck, a Roseville Police Department news release said.

She escaped through the driver's door after honking her horn. The suspect drove away in a maroon Dodge Durango with tinted rear windows, taking the woman's purse.

Another attempted kidnapping involving a maroon Dodge Durango was reported Sunday in Lincoln.

The suspect in the Roseville incident was described as a Caucasian man in his early 30s, with a mustache, goatee and blond, buzz-cut hair. He was also described as 5-foot-11, 220 pounds and wearing a white T-shirt.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Roseville Police Department at (916) 774-5000.
